Scope and Purpose of Processing
You can subscribe to our free newsletter on our website. We may also send newsletters to individuals whose contact details we have lawfully obtained, even if they didn’t register through the website.
The newsletter contains updates on events and activities of the BJB KE congregation, personal stories, biblical reflections, prayer requests, thanksgiving, and spiritual encouragement.
To subscribe and receive the newsletter, we process the following personal data:

- Last name (optional)
- Email address
After signing up, you will receive a confirmation email. You will only be subscribed once you click the confirmation link.
Legal Basis
The processing of your personal data for newsletter distribution is based on BJB KE’s legitimate interest in sending marketing communications, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If you registered for the newsletter, you consented to the following statement:
I have read and understood BJB KE’s privacy policy and I agree with it.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Unsubscribing also constitutes an objection to the processing of your personal data for this purpose, in accordance with Article 21(1) and (2) GDPR. Once unsubscribed, we will stop sending newsletters and delete your data for this purpose.

Your personal data will be stored until you withdraw your consent to receive the newsletter.

On the website www.kosicebaptist.sk, you can use a contact form, which requires providing the following information to BJB KE:

Once your request or inquiry has been processed and important issues have been definitively resolved, your personal data processed through the contact form will be deleted. Longer retention may occur if required by law.
What Rights Does the Data Subject Have Regarding Personal Data Processing?
Right to Information about the Processing of Personal Data
Based on a written request sent by mail to our address or via email, the data subject has the right to request information about which personal data is being processed. We will provide a response in an understandable format using the same method in which the request was made.
Right of Access to Personal Data
Based on a written request sent by mail to our address or via email, the data subject has the right to request access to their processed personal data. The processor will provide the information in an understandable format using the same method in which the request was made.
Right to Rectification of Personal Data
If the personal data we process about you is incorrect, incomplete, or outdated, the data subject has the right to request correction, supplementation, or change. The data subject is required to report changes to their personal data. The processor will make the change without undue delay.
Right to Erasure or Restriction of Processing
The processor (controller) is required to delete personal data without undue delay if the data subject exercises their right to erasure and one of the following conditions is met:
- The personal data is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
- The data subject withdraws consent for data processing.
- There is no other legal basis for processing the data.
- The data subject objects to data processing under Section 27(1) of the Slovak Data Protection Act, and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for processing.
- The data subject objects to processing for direct marketing purposes.
- The processing of personal data is unlawful.
- The erasure is required to comply with legal obligations under data protection laws, special regulations, or international treaties binding on the Slovak Republic.
- The personal data was collected in connection with an offer of information society services under Section 15(1) of the Slovak Data Protection Act.
Right to Object to Processing
The data subject has the right to request the restriction of personal data processing if:
- The data subject contests the accuracy of the personal data, for a period allowing the controller to verify its accuracy.
- The processing is unlawful and the data subject opposes the erasure and requests restriction instead.
- The controller no longer needs the data for processing, but the data subject requires it for legal claims.
- The data subject objects to processing under Section 27(1) of the Slovak Data Protection Act, pending verification of whether the controller’s legitimate grounds override the interests of the data subject.
