How to Read the Bible: Understanding God’s Word Correctly
Reading the Bible is the cornerstone of the Christian life. However, it is not enough just to open it and read – what is important is to understand it correctly. porozumieť a vykladať. - first in the context of the chapter and the book,
- then within the context of the entire biblical narrative.

Steps for Reading the Bible Correctly
- Pray – Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the text you are reading
- Read in context – Read not just a single verse, but the entire chapter, and follow the context.
- Pay attention to the genre – Poetry, epistles, law, gospel, or prophecy should be interpreted according to their literary form.
- Compare Scripture with Scripture – Use cross-references that guide you to other passages with a similar theme.
- Apply correctly - first ask: What it meant for the original reader? and then How can I apply it into my life?
