What We Believe and Why
We believe that truth exists and that God has revealed it in His Word – the Bible. In a time of confusion and relativism, in this post-truth era, we affirm these truths not out of pride but from trust that God has spoken clearly and out of love for humanity. We do not claim to know everything – as Scripture says, “we know in part” – but what we do know, we want to live out and share with others. This confession expresses what we stand on as Christians and as a Baptist church.
GOD
We believe in one God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – the eternal, holy, and almighty Creator of all things.
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, true God and true man, who died for our sins and rose from the dead.
BIBLE
We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original manuscripts, and the highest authority for faith and life.
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer, guiding, comforting, convicting of sin, and sanctifying for a holy life.
CHURCH
We believe that the church is a community of born-again believers, who are the body of Christ and are called to gather for worship, fellowship, and service.
SALVATION
We believe that a person is saved solely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works, but as a gift from God.
BAPTISM
We believe that baptism is the outward testimony of inward faith and should be performed by immersion as a public confession of faith in Jesus Christ.
LORD'S SUPPER
We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial act in which believers remember Christ’s death until He comes again.
MAN AND SIN
We believe that every person is created in God’s image but has fallen into sin and needs God’s grace and forgiveness.
SANCTIFIED LIFE
We believe that Christians are called to live a holy life in obedience to Christ and in love for God and people.
SECOND COMING
We believe that Jesus Christ will come again—personally, visibly, and gloriously—to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom.
ETERNITY
We believe that believers will be with God forever in heaven, and unbelievers will be separated from God’s presence in eternal punishment.
Apostolic Confession of Faith
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
